Meet the friendly staff at Cox Veterinary Hospital!
Dr. Cox graduated from Auburn University in 1985 and opened his practice in Chilton County. He is married to Melanie Parker Cox, they have 5 children and 13 grand-children. In the years since opening his hospital, at one time or another, you could always find his wife or one of their children working here. The hospital has always maintained a 'family atmosphere'. Dr. Cox enjoys serving the community and providing the best care for his patients.
Marilyn is Dr. Cox’s assistant and office manager. She plays and important role in everything that goes on at the hospital. After 25 years as Dr. Cox's right arm, she has the knowledge to assist clients with their needs as well as managing all of the behind-the-scenes tasks needed to keep the practice operating at its best. She has a son who graduated from Auburn University and a dog (Daisy) you are likely to see at the office.
Connie grew up in Chilton county and is the Licensed Veterinary Technician at the clinic. She also has a Bachelor of Science from Auburn University at Montgomery and an Associates of Applied Science from Jefferson State Community College under her belt. She is an animal lover at heart and one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She has 2 young sons and 3 dogs that adore her.
Katelyn has been with our office for 8 years and is the glue that holds us together. She takes care of all the fur babies that come and stay with us as if they were her own, all while assisting Dr. Cox around the office. She is incredibly smart and talented and a huge asset to our clinic. She also works at a 24 hour emergency hospital which brings a skill set to our clinic that most don't have. She has 6 dogs and 2 cats.
Kaylee has been with our clinic for 4 years. She is the one you rarely see because she is in the kennel caring for all of our boarding and hospitalized patients. She plays a very important role within our hospital and we could not accomplish everything in our day-to-day tasks without her. When she does get a minute to help up front, her big smile can make anyone's day better. Kaylee has a dog and 3 cats at home.
Belle has been with us for a year. She is the main person you will see assisting Dr. Cox with your pets during appointments. She is always running around to gather supplies or fill medications. You will hear us call her name multiple times if you're in our office long enough. We would be lost without her. Belle has 3 dogs at home that she enjoys going hunting with.
Erika has been with our office for a little over a year. Erika grew up in Chilton County and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Minor in Social Work from Auburn University at Montgomery. She is the first smiling face you will see when you walk in the door. She is responsible for scheduling appointments, checking in surgeries and a long list of other responsibilities. She keeps things running smoothly and is an important staple in our staff. Erika has a cat and 2 dogs at home.
Marissa is the newest addition to our staff. Marissa grew up in Chilton County and has worked in veterinary medicine for 9 years. She graduated with an Associate of Applied Science from the Veterinary Technician program at Jefferson State Community College. She recently worked at Veterinary Specialists of Birmingham and brings a skillset with her that will enhance the level of care we are able to provide to our patients while in our care. We are excited to have her with us and even more excited to watch her welcome her first child with her husband (Jenson) at the end of this year.
